What Eexactly Is The Function of Refresh
Are you a computer users? I’m sure one of you would have noticed the name “Refresh” if you did right clicking the mouse on the desktop? or in the windows explorer? This option has been there since we remember!.
But what you know of a function option “Refresh” this?, Whether to refresh Windows will run smoothly? Whether it will make your windows more quickly? Or maybe you fikir will erase your computer’s memory or RAM refresh?

What is the purpose of the function or Desktop Refresh Refresh Folder?
On the desktop itself refresh is nothing while folder was programmed to auto-refresh when changing the contents of that folder, so if there are changes to the contents of the folder will automatically refresh (refresh). but sometimes we will find the contents of the folder does not automatically refresh.
We may need to refresh (refresh) desktop windows in the following situations:
Desktop does not display the file or folder that we just created, move, delete, save or renamed.
We need to align icons on the desktop. We find there are icons that can not use (clickable). Files created by a 3rd party application does not appear.
And a similar situation in which the contents of the desktop or the folder does not change when expected.
To improve such situation above, it can be fixed by pressing the F5 key or click the right mouse button and select the option “Refresh”. Manually refresh the desktop or folder can sort the contents of the first folder, then file2 in alphabetical order.
Why would anyone who likes to constantly refresh the Desktop?
We may often notice there are computer users who like to click the right mouse button and clicking the “refresh” continuously, this may have become a habit or just imitating? to refresh the desktop constantly. You may also notice especially among computer technicians or IT experts who are obsessed with using the option “Refresh”.
What is the reason? Nothing and no reason to do so, this is just a silly habit.
Temporary Files
We already know the nature of some temporary files (Temporary files) such as the Temporary Internet Files, index.dat files, Cookies and Files Prefetch. In this article we will discuss some aspects of the Temporary Files, created by our computer.
What is a Temporary File in Windows
Temporary Files in Windows are files that are used only temporarily and become redundant once after program completion. Temporary file is created to store temporary data when files are being manufactured, processed or used.
Temporary files created for What?
Temporary files (Temporary Files) created by the Windows operating system when running normally may not be enough if all allocated in memory.
Software that uses large amounts of data such as graphics, video or media editing software also create a temporary file.Temporary file is created more often than not, and often left behind when the task is completed, which causes the waste of disk space on my hard drive.
The file is also created by the program for backup purposes. For example, Microsoft Office store temporary files of documents that are open every few minutes. If you save the document and exit, Temporary files are deleted. If a program crashes unexpectedly, Temporary files are not deleted. Thus it can be used to help recover lost data if a program or system crash.
Ideally, Temporary files must be removed immediately after exiting the program. But this is not always the case, causing the disk space that will continue to grow can certainly slow down the performance of your hard disk and windows itself.
Location Temporary Files
Temporary Files in Windows usually found located in two locations:
% SystemDrive% \ Windows \ Temp
% Userprofile% \ AppData \ Local \ Temp
If you click on the folder C: \ Windows \ Temp, then we will find the warning “You do not currently have permission to access this folder” and then by clicking the Continue button, then we will find most of the contents of this folder the file is a file. Tmp, . temp, and. txt.
Another folder is usually located in C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Local \ Temp, made for each windows user, this folder is (hidden), if you want to see it we have to “un-hide” advance in the folder options.
Temporary files created by Windows operating system is usually stored in the folder% system% \ Windows \ Temp, while the one made by the user when running any software that is stored in the user profile in% userprofiles% \ AppData \ Local \.
The files of a certain software may also be located in the sub-folder, inside the parent folder of the software.
In the unusual circumstances, a temporary file folder or the temporary files may be made into the root directory of the drive (system) C. You may want to check the folder for details, and then delete it if you are unsure, if it indeed contains a temporary file.
How to Change the location of the Temp folder
In this tutorial, I will show you how to tell Windows to use the “Temp” folder as a single file (Temporary files) for both systems and users, so we do not need to open 2 different folders to free up disk space.
We will also learn to change the location of the folder “Temp” from drive C: \ to another partition. The reason behind this change of location is very simple! First, he will not eat up valuable disk space of the drive system. Second, we will not have to worry about cleaning up the contents of the Temp folder on a regular basis to free disk space on drive C:. And then the results could also be a little speed up windows performance.
So without wasting time, let’s begin the tutorial:
A. Right-click the Computer icon on the desktop and select Properties (or press the WIN + Pause / Break), click Advanced then click the Environment Variables
2. Here there are two distinct parts: User variables and System variables
You will see the TEMP and TMP variables are listed in the User variables. System variables section will contain a long list of environmental variables along with TEMP and TMP variables as shown in the screenshot below:
Now we will change the location of the temporary file folder C: \ Windows \ Temp from or to other partitions, first create a folder in the first place another partition.
For example I will create a folder on the partition D: with the name of the TEMP folder is D: \ TEMP
Now you can double-click on the time variable in the system TEMP variable or select it and click on the Edit button. Now type the new location of the TEMP folder (My example here is in D: \ Temp) and click the OK button.
Repeat the same steps for the TMP variable.
Now how this will change the location of the TEMP folder in Windows.
3. Now we will ask windows to use the TEMP folder for temporary files and system user. We can do this by removing the two variables TEMP and TMP User variables section listed, or you can also edit it and replaced with a new location is D: \ TEMP
Once we remove these two variables in the User variables or set their values to the new TEMP folder path, it will tell Windows to use a single TEMP folder to store all temporary files and folders created by Windows and program by third-party software other .
4. Restart Windows to apply the new setting.
Believe me, set the TEMP folder for the USER and SYSTEM and is the first thing I did after installing windows, having two separate temporary files folder emang somewhat complicates the job of cleaning the hard drive.
